- They may be checked for little things, like the correct lay-out of the readme
- file, the existance of a readme file and the use of a correct archiving format
- (like lha).
-
- However, stuff like 'does it run on my machine?' or 'does it break any
- copyright laws?' (I am told mods are great offenders here) cannot be checked
- in advance. However, Urban Mueller (the main Aminet administrator) will remove
- offending files, and authors may upload newer versions of their stuff. So if
- you want something changed, first mail the author personally, and if what you
- think is wrong is grave enough, mail Urban.
-
- I think this service works perfectly and has given us not only the largest
- collection of freely distributable files in the world (!), but also one of the
- best collections. (People who have ever tried to find something on a Wintel
- oriented server will know exactly what I mean).
-
- Please consider sending the Aminet people a thank you note.
